Guernsey Private Wealth Forum 2018

THEME: The Butterfly Effect

The inaugural Private Wealth Forum embraced the theme of 'The Butterfly Effect,' exploring the interconnectedness of global decisions and their far-reaching consequences, exemplified by events such as Brexit, the election of Trump, and North Korea's missile tests. To visually depict this concept, I conceptualized and crafted a series of butterflies, each adorned in the colors associated with the affecting countries. These butterflies were enclosed within hurricanes housed in bell jars, symbolizing Guernsey's role in mitigating the fallout from these tumultuous global events.

Every detail, including the labels on the bell jars, was meticulously designed to evoke the ambiance of a traditional collector's library, with Latin-inspired names derived from the events themselves. The wings of the butterflies were adorned in hues mirroring the flags of the respective countries, creating a visual representation of their impact.

This theme was carefully curated to resonate with the audience and evoke a sense of connection to their homelands or ancestral origins, infusing the event with a profound sense of relevance and meaning. As the creative director, I oversaw all aspects of the event's aesthetic, from table centerpieces to photography and marketing campaigns, ensuring a cohesive and impactful visual narrative.
